Apple Hardware Diagnosis/Test Check hardware


Another useful Mac feature is the built-in hardware diagnosis. Even before selling or after buying a used MacBook or any Apple device, I would recommend this test to everyone. The feature has been integrated into all MacBook/Air/Pro, Mac Mini, Mac Pro, and iMacs since mid-2013. It examines the hardware of the devices. If a fault is present, it will mostly be found here. All components, such as CPU, graphics, SSD, audio, camera, battery, and sensors, are checked. Please also connect the charger when checking, otherwise an error (PPP007) will be displayed

which only indicates the missing charger. Important: This description applies to devices from mid-2013 onwards.

 

To start the built-in hardware diagnosis, you must press the D key immediately after turning it on and hold it until the diagnosis starts. If there is also an Internet connection at the same time, the service status can also be queried.

PPT007 The battery needs to be replaced. It is functioning properly but holds significantly less charge than when new. You can continue to use the battery before replacing it. Your computer will not be damaged.
