Battery disposal information

In connection with selling batteries or supplying devices containing batteries, we are required to inform you of the following:

Batteries must not be disposed of in household waste.
Β
You may return used batteries of types that we currently sell or have previously sold as new batteries either by sending them to us at your own expense or by returning them free of charge to our dispatch warehouse (shipping address). Alternatively, you may take the batteries to local collection points.

As an end user, you are legally required to return used batteries so that they can be reprocessed or properly disposed of.

Used batteries may contain harmful substances that can damage the environment or your health if stored or disposed of improperly. However, batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese or nickel and can be recycled.

The symbols shown on batteries have the following meanings:

The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol means that the battery must not be disposed of in household waste.
Β
For batteries containing certain amounts of lead, cadmium or mercury, the following markings below the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol indicate the respective harmful substances:

Pb = battery contains more than 0.004% lead by mass
Cd = battery contains more than 0.002% cadmium by mass
Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005% mercury by mass
Cd = battery contains more than 0.002% cadmium by mass
Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005% mercury by mass
