Apple has developed its own processor for the new generation of its current Macs. The Silicon M1 chip.
With the Silicon M1 M2 processors, the current Mac Mini, MacBook Air, and Pro have become significantly more powerful. The new CPU not only generates significantly less heat but also requires significantly less power. Essentially, this means that, for example, the MacBook Air can achieve battery life of up to 17 hours in operation.
Recent benchmark tests confirm the enormous performance increase compared to an Intel CPU. A new generation of iMacs, also expected to feature the Silicon M chip, is anticipated in 2021.
