Rumors have persisted for years that the 27‑inch iMacs would no longer receive updates. We’re now in 2025, and the 27‑inch iMac from 2020 is still getting updates and will also support the next version of macOS.

The 27″ iMac from 2020 supported macOS 26 (“Tahoe”), which will be released in fall 2025. It is one of the last Intel models to still receive major operating system versions.
