Reset your Mac's SMC
How do I reset the SMC?
Resetting the SMC works slightly differently depending on the model.
Here I describe to you how this works on different models!
Mac Mini, Mac Pro and iMac:
With the devices, it is enough to simply disconnect the device from the mains by pulling the mains cable, i.e. unplugging it.
Unplug the power cord and wait 15s. Then plug the power cord back in and wait 5s again. Now the device can be powered on and the SMC has been reset.

1. Turn off the Mac.
2. Take out the battery.
3. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
4. Put the battery back in.
