Wow, the new Mac mini M4 comes with a completely redesigned look. But that's not all:
Apple has introduced its new Mac mini M4, which offers numerous improvements and a compact, innovative design. Here are the key innovations:
Performance and Hardware
- M4 Chip: The Mac mini includes the new M4 chip, based on advanced 3-nm technology. Compared to the M1, CPU performance is up to 1.8x faster, while the GPU is up to 2.2x faster. The GPU now supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing for significantly better graphics performance.
- M4 Pro: For demanding users, there is a Pro version equipped with a 14-core CPU and up to a 20-core GPU. Rendering and AI application performance have been significantly enhanced.
- Memory: The base version starts with 16 GB RAM (instead of the previous 8 GB). Expansions up to 64 GB are possible with the M4 Pro variant.
Design
- The casing has been redesigned and is significantly more compact than previous models, measuring just 12.7cm x 12.7cm. Improved thermals optimize heat dissipation despite the powerful hardware.
- The front now features two USB-C ports and a headphone jack, while the back offers three Thunderbolt 5 ports, an HDMI port, and Ethernet. USB-A ports have been completely removed.
Technological Highlights
- Thunderbolt 5: Enables data transfers at up to 120 Gbps, twice as fast as the previous standard.
- macOS Sequoia: The new operating system supports iPhone mirroring, enhanced Safari features, and an optimized gaming experience, including Personalized Spatial Audio.
- Apple Intelligence: AI-powered features such as notification and workflow management have been introduced.
